| Why one should not use "free" websites. |

Webmasters who don't update their websites' security provide an easy target for hackers. These infected websites are the primary point of entry for viruses and malware. Websites code allows hackers to penetrate your defenses and cause an infection on your computer.
A colleague of mine wrote that his "ultimate test" was to give computer to a team of teenagers. Within two hours they had downloaded software from compromised "free" websites that brought with it malware and trojan backdoor viruses! But was it the fault of the teens, or the webmasters who allow outdated code to become a resting place for hackers?
![]() If you were to check the box and go to this competitor's site, you would infect your computer. If that is this tech's way of drumming up business in a slow economy, you should look for another tech! If you see something like this on your browser, close the browser. See also:
